Hadrian GORUN is associate professor at “Constantin Brâncuși” University of Târgu-Jiu, holding a Ph. D in history (Magna cum laude) from “Babeș-Bolyai” University, Cluj-Napoca. He had a doctoral scholarship at Paris IV (Paris-Sorbonne) University. He successfully defended his habilitation thesis entitled România și Marele Război: între istoria și teoria relațiilor internaționale at “Babeș-Bolyai” University. His primary research interests lie in the area of History and Theory of International Relations, with a particular attention to World War I, focusing on relations between Romania and Entente. Areas of interests also include communism and post-communism.

Hadrian Gorun has published chapters and contributions in prestigious international academic volumes, including Peter Lang (Germany), Lexington Books (USA), and ISIS Press (Turkey, in collaboration), as well as studies and articles in peer-reviewed journals, such as Studia Slavica et Balcanica Petropolitana (Russia), PHILOBIBLON. Transylvanian Journal of Interdisciplinary Research in Humanities (Romania), European Scientific Journal (North Macedonia).

                  Hadrian Gorun is member of the International Commission on the History of International relations. Since 2024 he is expert of the National Council for the Attestation of University Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates (C.N.A.T.D.C.U.) He is also member of the scientific committee of several journals indexed in international databases: Revista Română de Studii Eurasiatice (Romanian Review of Eurasian Studies), Litua. Studii și cercetări, Astra Sabesiensis, Astra Salvensis and Research and Science Today.
